Hmm, not really. Judaism existed long before Christianity and long, long, before Islam. Jews are a small number of people that do not evangelise or proselytise. Jews share Arab ancestry, are the most persecuted people on earth and simultaneously derided as white colonisers. I don’t see the similarity.
In what possible world are you the most persecuted people on earth? Where exactly are you being persecuted? And why does that make you kill more babies than every other country in the world combined?
Hello XxY, I wasn't thinking about the actions of individual states but the experience of belonging to a minority religion. I can't think of a minority that has been attacked, driven out, demonised etc. more than the Jews and has survived, but do correct me if I am wrong. Their numbers are just a few million because they don't preach and convert and because they have been decimated in the past. In contrast, there are billions of Christians and Muslims who continue to preach and convert. Therefore, if one of those religions begins to take root in a new society, that society will ask valid questions about the values and impacts of that religion that we would not be interested in asking about Judaism. That inquiry should not be closed down by false and inaccurate comparison with anti-semitism.
It’s interesting to see that when group conflicts due to religious or ethnic differences play out in non-Western countries, group divisions are openly acknowledged as part of the problem.
Yet when similar patterns emerge in the West, the response has almost always been to call for more tolerance.
The fundamental problem, I believe, is that much of the debate is rooted in ideological convictions rather than in a genuine understanding of the psychology behind group dynamics.
I have Muslim friends who hate what is going on, they have worked hard and deserve their success and they see this "islamaphobia" as divisive and do not want it.
I also have Indian friends who are NOT muslim and they don't like the rape gang scandal being associated with "asians" because it tars them with the same brush.
Sadly it is hard for them to stand up and state these facts.
First of all thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think that we have arrived in a time where a lot of extreme voices are the loudest ones. I can share your thoughts, cause that is what I see daily at TVs, social media, reading the news and so on. When I'm discussing such facts with friends, families and others I often see, that we share your thoughts, but often we are torn between the far right ad the left. The voices in between got so silently, and thats a huge problem.
The other thing what really annoys me is that often the voices in between are afraid to say something, for fear of being assigned to a political side.
To critize the Islam in factual manner is either left or right, it is necessary matter for the West
A theory given in a retelling of the career of a certain Prophet.

Just apply the same rules we use for Judaism. Simple.

Regarding your first point, historical persecution is irrelevant today; groups don't build up persecution credits to spend oppressing other groups.
Regarding your second point, Muslims don't typically prosyletize to “people of the book.”
Hello Ada, I hope you don’t mind if I share a piece I wrote recently along a similar subject line:
