These are truly exciting times for The Equiano Project. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to impacting, engaging in and leading important discussions around race, identity, and culture. We’re proud to speak with people from across the political spectrum and a wide range of perspectives. Here’s a preview of what’s coming up, as well as recent media features:
ISLAM VS ISLAMISM VS ISLAMOPHOBIA
Join The Equiano Project at the Battle of Ideas Festival for a panel discussion on the complexities of discussing Islam in Britain. Despite Islam being the fastest-growing religion due to recent migration, conversations are often clouded by fears of offending or being labelled Islamophobic. This panel will explore key events, such as the Salman Rushdie affair and other recent controversies, to explore how to critically approach discussions about Islam and Islamism in the UK.
Join us for an unmissable weekend of debate and discussion on the most important political, economic, scientific and cultural issues of our time.
Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 October. Church House, Westminster.
